Do you build 'traffic getting" campaigns for both Yahoo and Bing as well?

Hey Jim,

I just recently purchased the ppc domination from magnetic sponsoring. I was listening to the latest video that talks about masking being eventually phased out. What other alternatives are there if we can't use masking for the landing pages? Thanks.

Thanks Jim for all this great info and for your course. I haven't finished it yet, but here's the issue I've been wondering about:

I'm creating a lot of landing pages for the different keywords to make the keywords, ads and landing pages all align for relevancy.

However, my landing pages are all very similar (same design, etc.) except that I switch out the keywords on them.

I have about 20 landing pages now that are all nearly identical, except for the use of the different keywords. but I plan on doing many more pages as I continue to split out my keywords to be even more specific.

Question is this:

Does Google penalize me for this - seeing the landing pages as duplicate content, or as replicated pages?

If so, how much difference do I need to create for each landing page (trying to minimize the manual labor!).

Here's a second part to the question:

Right now the landing pages are all on the same primary domain name. However I'm going to get some more domains that contain the keywords and put some of the landing pages on them ...

But wondering if putting the landing pages (which are 95% similar except for the keywords used) on different domains will hurt because then they are more likely to be seen as duplicate content or replicating pages, whereas if I keep them on the same domain then Google knows they all belong to one person and I may actually avoid that problem.

Thanks for your help.

Oh! Fabulous! You'll be releasing a new video...I can hardly wait.

I've been so patient in these latter days, letting my Google adwords sit for days at a time, trying to establish credibility after making/whacking/changing my keywords, my adword groups, my ads, my campaigns drastically and quickly in the beginning of my career.

What a learning situation. But I'm persevering and learning and growing. Wish it were faster...

Marika,

Lower your daily budget to something you could afford for "testing". This could be something like $20 or so. Then bid high enough to score the #1 spot on those keywords. And follow the rest of the instructions on the Q&A call for quality score (call #1). Once you got them at a price you like, increase your daily budget however much you like.

This IS an advanced technique. If i were you, i'd try and find cheaper keywords. There are a LOT of them. In a few weeks i will release a video showing you how to get half a million keywords and find the cheapest most trafficked. Keep an eye out on the blog.

Hello Again Jim!!!
Wondering,
if I have some very specific keywords that are so popular they are like 5-6-7$/click...Should I raise my bid that high and wait to get a good history with google so that when I drop my bid down Ill be able to stay up? If I do that, do I absolutely need a high daily budget to keep google showing my ads or if I bring it down to something I can really afford I shouldn't be penalized?...
I tried to think of other keywords to use and for now, lack of experience perhaps :P!!, I figured I really needed that keyword for stage 3 searchers...

Thanks for your help and hopefully I explain well enough for you to understand what I mean!!!
Talk to you soon and thank you thank you again!

Hey Kelsey,

I'm working on a similar issue right now actually. The reason is that before you drop your bid you need to allow Google enough time to establish your CTR. Because your ad position is a direction function of = CPC x CTR x Quality Score

You need to maintain the CPC and CTR and QS long enough that Google establishes a pattern about you. I would suggest you wait till you have say 100 clicks before you drop your bid. If you're bidding a lot higher than that (eg, $15 as i am now) you'll want to experiment and see at which point it would be appropriate. for me, i found that 30 clicks is suitable. You'll want to see what's worthwhile for you. But i suggest 100 clicks with your $1 bid (though you wont be paying that) and make sure you stay in position #1 for all that time.

Hey Jim I have a question about using company names in my ads, when i first put up a campaign google let me put a company name then when i did an ad variation they stoped me from doing it,whats up with that Jim?

one more question you said to set the bid high just to get rankings in the top position and to get on googles good side then I lower the bid when I see the cpc drop

ok I did that with a 0.40 bid and the cpc droped 0.23
then I droped the bid 5 cent off which made it 0.35
after that i was happy untill I got a message saying my bid was too low.didnt understand why.

so I raised the bid 1.00$ and now they droped it to 0.51 and the maessage went away

so here is the ??? why the first time they lowered it to 0.23 and the second time with 0.51???

Also can you just explain what the process of this happening means

Thanks in advance
